This is the new Pasig City... or whatever's left of it after Ondoy.. I'd like to name it as "Venice" of Asia - because of informal settlers in Floodway, improper waste disposal, small and ineffective drainage systems, and lack of preparation for disasters resulted to this... Who to blame? We can point our fingers to local government of Pasig, who have done nothing but get excessive tax, bribes, splurge with money & luxurious stuff instead of letting that money work for the betterment of Pasig... But we have to realize that part of this tragedy is also our fault, residents of Pasig city... Admit it or not, we played a part in this tragic story... we doomed ourselves by constantly ignoring reminders to recycle, conserve energy & water, learn to properly dispose of our waste... those little things that we thought were not worth our attention brought us danger & permanent damages to our properties and our lives... it is also our fault that we elected incompetent politicians - assholes who loves to splurge and take advantage of our money, the taxes that we pay but proved to be cowards who can't do anything in these troubled times... We voted them & we gave them power to exploit us leading to this tragedy. This is a wake up call, we can blame anyone we want to blame but let us not forget we're also held liable for this... and we also have the power to change this... Remember and learn from this tragedy... Learn to love and care for our surroundings, our environment... Learn to choose and vote wisely this coming election and promise ourselves that this tragedy will never happen again... never again...
