Images of Brgy Guevara, Lapaz, Tarlac I've taken around 8:00AM yesterday,
October 10, 2009. According to old folks, this barrio is the highest
place of the town Lapaz and was supposed to be the the town center
long ago. Yestesday, it was totally isolated and could be reached only
by big military trucks. The barrio core, most of the houses are safe
and dry, but right outside the barrio, water is thigh and waist-deep.

At this level of water, the town proper must be submerged approx 7ft
deep; impossible to be reached by any type of vehicle except
amphibians.

Today, as of 8:00 am, water level here in Brgy. Guevara receded to
reveal the road and left it passable to vehicles through Brgy
Karamutan; According to tricycle drivers, the way to town proper of
Lapaz via Brgy. Karamutan is still waist-deep.

Called up my uncle in town, Brgy San Roque, Lapaz, Tarlac this morning
and he said that they are starting to clean up their house of mud but
they still can't get outside the street. Roads are still chest-deep
and dangerous and advised us not to come.

Again, the images attached were taken yesterday at 8:00 am, October 10, 2009.

All rights to air my images, if chosen, are given exclusively to ABS-CBN.

so heartbreaking to see farms and years of hardwork of our kababayans turns to an ocean-like place. I hope and pray that the Lord will heal our land and water will go back to where it is supposed to be!
